| Have
you been thinking about hiring a ghostwriter? Do you need
someone to craft your ideas into a well-written book or article?
Whether you are tight on time or prefer to hire someone to do
your writing, you may need a ghostwriter.
What is a ghostwriter?
A ghostwriter works behind the
scenes to write your story for you. You own the rights, but the
ghostwriter is the wordsmith. So, you can publish that book,
white paper, trade publication or article you have been meaning
to create, without taking the time to do it. You can put your
own byline on the ghostwriter's work, helping to enhance your
career.
Who needs a ghostwriter?
Often, professionals want to
publish information in their areas of expertise but do not have
the time or writing skill to do so. Some writers hire
ghostwriters to help when they have more work than they can
handle. Or, you may just have a story you want the world to hear
about and think you should hire a ghostwriter author.
How to get a ghostwriter:
When selecting a ghostwriter, it
is important to find someone who is an experienced writer, with
a style you enjoy reading. Ideally, the ghostwriter you hire
will have some interest in your chosen topic. You can find
several ghostwriters in the Writers Row cooperative, all of whom
have extensive experience as writers and editors on a variety of
topics.
Before you hire a ghostwriter:
Outline your ideas; what is it
that you want written by your ghostwriter? A written outline
will ensure the ghostwriter meets your expectations. Where will
the information come from for the writing. In other words, do
you plan to provide written notes, oral interviews or do you
expect the ghostwriter to do her own research? A ghostwriter
will usually charge more for a project that requires research
than for one that has all of the source materials assembled.
