                                         DISCLAIMER:  In My Opinion
============================================================
I'm a Boomer -- I grew up with T.V. Back in the paleolithic era, when dinosaurs
roamed the streets and television screens were smaller than this computer screen
and the images were mostly still in black-and-white.

There were only 3 networks.

You had to pay attention because you couldn't stop the tape and re-play, because
VCRs hadn't been invented.  (Remember VCRs? those are what we used before
DVDs were invented and TiVo took over....)

I watched way too much T.V., according to my parents, but despite dire warnings,
I did not go blind or do badly in school. My favorite activity in the whole world was
reading a good book while watching a fun T.V. show. Okay, so maybe that's not
exactly an "activity" but it was very enjoyable. Still is.

Now my TV is flat and huge and the images are in vibrant, highly-defined color.
And I love it now as much as I loved it then. There is now so much more to choose
from, although probably the same ratio of junk to substance.

My law school diploma is stuck on a bookcase somewhere.  Meanwhile, a large,
framed photo of my on-screen T.V. credit [shared with that most-excellent s-f
writer
Mona Clee] for an episode of Star Trek: The Next Generation is displayed
proudly on my wall for people to admire. Such are my priorities.

It's all a matter of personal taste, and these reviews are, of course, entirely IMO.

Enjoy!

                                  BATTLESTAR GALACTICA

It’s been too long since I’ve waited with such eagerness for a new episode of a
series to air, but each week I’m riveted to BATTLESTAR GALACTICA and thrilled
that anticipation does not exceed the event.

I loved the 2004 movie-miniseries, because it was nothing like my vague recollection
of the original show (which, frankly, I recall as being kinda cheesy; I only saw a few
episodes in syndication so may not be a fair assessment on my part).

The new Battlestar Galactica is superior in every way.  The production, effects,
and
direction are wonderful -- edgy, evocative, moody, and fast-paced.  What I
particularly relish, however, and what keeps me tuning in for more, are the subtle
storylines and the relationships among the multi-dimensional characters.

Their flaws give the characters depth and humanity, and their interactions
are what make the show so compelling to watch every week.

Plus.....really cool spaceships. :-)

TV will never be a serious competitor for radio because people must sit and keep their eyes glued on a screen; the average American family hasn't time for it.
